Technology

The essence of the technology: in addition to the main welding process, accompanying activities are carried out to feed the main material in a given order:

  • welding of the tank body is carried out spirally;
  • the sheets are fed in the order of surface formation, the weld is created in a strictly sequential order;
  • if necessary, the cooling of the welded metal is carried out in parallel.

This provides a high level of quality and short manufacturing time – if compared with the usual manufacturing method.

The main advantage of spiral welding is the absence of deformation of the bottoms and the inner surface of the container. This relieves the need for subsequent mechanical and thermomechanical straightening and simplifies the thermal exchange of the product.

The material used is a suitable type of stainless steel. It is characterized by mechanical strength, decent heat transfer characteristics and high resistance to corrosion. This is particularly evident at high temperatures – useful for technological processes involving chemical compounds and abrasive substances.

Finished tanks after spiral welding easily pass the certification process and are ready for delivery to domestic and international markets.

Main advantages of argon arc (spiral) welding

From the mechanical point of view, the strength of the finished welds of the product after traditional welding is evaluated by a coefficient of up to 0.85. After spiral welding the coefficient is equal to 1.0.

This allows us to create a significant working pneumatic and hydraulic pressure inside our tanks – this has been confirmed by numerous simulations (using the finite element method we have checked many combinations of loads and environmental conditions in relation to the tanks).

The result of spiral welding is the absence of stresses from welded transitions, which makes it possible to increase the thickness and apply a wider range of media.

The elasticity of welds is improved – this increases the stability of the product.

Increased flexibility in tank design allows flanges and process openings to be placed in more places.

Cold-rolled finished seams increase the flatness of the product, resulting in less wasted work and reduced water requirements for washing.
